084. The Missing Element in All Diets: Why Salt is Not Bad For You, The Need For Electrolytes, Should We Eat Meat At All? - Robb Wolf

This week on the podcast I have none other than Robb Wolf, a former research biochemist is the 2X New York Times/WSJ Best Selling author of The Paleo Solution and Wired To Eat.  Robb has transformed the lives of hundreds of thousands of people around the world via his top ranked iTunes podcast, books and seminars.

Robb is also the founder of LMNT, an electrolyte mix that contains the right amounts of electrolytes and salt to help fuel workouts or just maintain healthy energy levels. This has been a game changer I know for myself and many of my clients. We talk a lot in this episode about the truth about salt intake and why you're probably electrolyte deficient. To get a free sample pack head over to www.drinklmnt.com/joelevan

We also get into Robb's new documentary Sacred Cow, which probes the fundamental moral, environmental and nutritional quandaries we face in raising and eating animals. In this project, we focus our lens on the largest and perhaps most maligned of farmed animals, the cow.

COMMON ASSUMPTIONS ABOUT MEAT...

  • Red meat causes cancer, obesity and heart disease.

  • We’re eating too much meat.

  • Humans don’t need to consume animal products to be healthy.

  • Raising livestock is bad for the environment.

  • It’s unethical to eat animals.

  • If we can produce meat in labs, then why should we eat animals?
